WHAT THE RECORD SHOWS

ABC News reported on May 28, 2025, citing a source familiar with the situation, that both had been released from Bureau of Prisons custody after the pardons were signed that day. NBC News cited Savannah Chrisley’s Republican National Convention speech, in which she suggested her parents were targeted for being conservative, as an example of pardon seekers’ relatives appearing in “MAGA-friendly spaces.”

RESPONSE

Savannah Chrisley and her brother Chase publicly thanked Trump, ABC News reported. Savannah Chrisley called it a “misconception” that she had paid for a pardon for her parents, saying she “begged for meetings,” NBC News reported; Tolman did not respond to NBC’s request for comment.

Correction. An earlier version put Todd Chrisley’s restitution at $17.8 million. The Justice Department list gives $17.3 million. Corrected September 18, 2026.
